This is a story about death. And life. And a failed cryogenics experiment.

Developed with the Swiss animation team Tumult, “Interdimensional Melancholy” is a funny and bittersweet short film that celebrates the humor of death—be that of a goldfish, a Tetris block, or the universe as we know it. We worked with Tumult’s producers to craft unique soundscapes for each vignette that play off Chopin’s musical refrain, composing segments to incorporate swirling mandolin tremolos, an 8-bit synthesis engine, and a blubbery chorus of concrete-footed mafia victims.

“Interdimensional Melancholy” was developed as part of AniJam 2019.
